Miss America 2010 is Miss Virginia, Caressa Cameron

Our congratulations to the winner, Caressa Cameron, Miss Virginia!

What were you doing in 2002? Caressa was headed for transformation in 2010.

Caressa's yellow dress was designed by Sherri Hill.

The talent has surely changed over the years. And what amazing professional level talent was seen tonight. Gone for good are the twirling fire batons! No small feat to handle them, but not a solid career path.

The short dresses of top 10 included one print worn by Katherine Putnam, Miss Louisiana. The gowns were gorgeous, ranging from classic pageant to red carpet. Among the seven finalists, the colors were two white, two red, beige, blue and yellow.

And a special congratulations to Johnathan Kayne on the beautiful dress for Taylor Treat, Miss Oklahoma. Rather than the girl showing the dress, Johnathan's gown showcased Taylor. It was a perfect design for her. The detailed beading is a work of art. Well done Johnathan for being a part of putting Taylor Treat in the top 12 finalists.

The ball gown was front and center in the talent competition. The style was sumptuous with draping in folds. Jen Corey, Miss DC,  wore a jeweled sweetheart strapless in shimmering dark blue. Kristen Blair, Miss Texas, lit up the stage in a surplice strapless bright yellow taffeta.

After all the dazzle leading up to finals, the evening began with a bow to classic fashion, the little black dress.
